under the wire

This was a rough but good year. Big projects and heavy schedules sit on the horizon and I’m working to clear the tedium of life prior to the chaos.

I thought that included holiday decorations, but as Christmas neared neither of us wanted to wake up without a tree on Christmas, so I got to work re-imagining Star Trek: The Christmas Tree as a tabletop edition.

I’m thrilled with the results.

a table with a small Christmas tree on it. the tree is full of Hallmark Star Trek character ornaments and red plastic icicles. the table is covered with a tree skirt made from vintage Star Trek printed fabric. the Hallmark Star Trek storytellers stand on it along with a couple of other Hallmark Star Trek tabletop pieces. the table is surrounded by wrapped presents with big, fancy bows.
we wrapped presents mostly for Lulu, who loves ripping them open.
her presents are tucked away,

I’m quite happy with the drape
of Star Trek: The Tree Skant
on the tabletop.

This year’s tree is highly edited, sticking to mostly non-magic character ornaments and new and/or newish ships. Only a handful of batteries in this iteration.

our fantastic cobbled animated treetop
won’t fit on the tiny tree,
so I used a metal not-Keepsake
Hallmark ornament as the topper.

what are they doing here?
Rick and Morty popped in for a caper. probably gonna steal our tree

  1. Rick & Morty!? I expected the Protector, but not R & M! Tree looks amazing. Love the Lower Decks ornaments and the Trek video game one, too. Gorgeous tree.
