this week in the garden

things growing, projects moving along; here is this week in our garden:

I got the little gazebo set in place,
and the setting of the pavers is underway.
I’m looking forward to a covered seating area!
I cleaned up and planted a bed from last year, adding a new lily and some border flowers.
a longer shot reveals everything
still looking for a garden home…
African and French marigolds mixed
with English daisies brighten up the border.
Chinese long beans are set
to climb the trellises,
while petunias offer a spot of color.
the grow bags were added last year,
looking to add additional places to plant.
this grouping is on break from potatoes,
sown with flower seeds:
stock, cosmos, camomile and dahlias.
lavender and salvia yangii
fill in the negative space.
at the start of the week,
I extended the long bed,
adding a new cluster of lilies,
scabiosa, and continuing the koi avens.
the next day, I connected it
to the existing peninsula bed by continuing
the scabiosa and koi avens.
the sunflowers in the long bed are sprouting and beginning their climb.

And finishing out the week: a gallery of things in bloom.
