the tree that almost wasn’t

For the first time in over twenty-five years, I wasn’t going to put up a Christmas tree. You see, things need to happen over winter in this old house, and I need time to get projects ready.

But I know how I work, and I do not want to return after holiday travel and have no tree. So, I present to you this year’s Star Trek tree, re-conceived for our front sitting room…

ST:TCT:

our only tree for this year,
so I’m making it count.

Moved to the front room, so my husband has some space to revamp the music room. This year sees it on a different tree, with a different style and approach.

Also, we continue to expand the content in addition to Hallmark’s 2024 Trek fandom releases.

The non-Hallmark Star Trek ornaments:

The Hallmark non-Trek ornament:

Lucille Ball returns, a nod to her hand in insuring Trek made it to the TV screen.
this year, I managed to adjust
the battery contacts
to get better performance
of the ornament’s sound magic.

The Hallmark non-Trek Trek ornament:

the NSEA Protector from Galaxy Quest,
my husband’s favorite Star Trek movie…

The non-Hallmark Trek non-ornaments:

Lower Decks (!!!) comes more completely
to ST:TCT through Chibi in Motion toys
from Target. originally discovered
from my favorite Trek blog here.

The Hallmark Trek non-ornament:

this thing, whatever it may be,
added to the cased collection
that accopmanies ST:TCT

The non-Hallmark pseudo-Trek non-ornament:

the pseudo tribble faux fur knitting poms
from Michael’s and Amazon
return en masse in all
their festive seasonal technicolor splendor.
I mean, if Hallmark’s gonna give us two,
we should expect many, many, many more…

The non-Hallmark Trek gift:

my husband’s high school friend got him
this magnificent TOS bridge model,
and all she got for it was a lousy trip
to Hawaii… LOL

The full magnificent splendor:

featuring my own hand-cobbled tree topper, after all, tree toppers should have every opportunity to include animation…
