the colors of the day

Today, in the garden:

‘sweet kate’ chartreuse spiderwort
wave petunias spilling out of urns,
dressing up the place while waiting
for long beans to grow.
rescued supertunias ‘bee’s knees’ recovering from stress and getting established.
Iris and her little green buddy
this copper/burgundy iris is among
my favorites. only in the garden
for a few years, this year notes a spike
in volume. previously, we only ever saw
a few flower spikes.
the ‘nursery’ table,
housing the many clearance rescues
until they find their home
