a messy weekend

The rain this weekend made for a messy but productive time in the garden. Planting gets muddy, but weeding is easy-peasy.

the far bed is planted with two dozen
hot peppers, bordered by marigolds.
the bed to the left has been sown
with the carrots seen below, pink radishes,
and is speckled with volunteer dill
from last year’s planting.

This year’s hot pepper varieties: ghost, trinidad scorpion, carolina reaper, red and orange habaneros, jalapeño M, and jalapeño F1.

using up the seed stash,
trying to max out the garden to prepare
for hiked up food prices.
twelve tomato plants this year, six varieties: sun gold and chocolate sprinkles cherries, carbon, Cherokee carbon,
pink brandywine, and black krim.
even as a hot mess, the garden is full
and lush and evocative.
